We
all know the definition of autographs, especially when it comes right
after a movie star’s name. However,
another kind of autograph, in its own, unique, silly, serious way
involves an item Russell Crowe likes to throw to the crowd during
TOFOG’s live shows, at least the one I attended at House of Blues in
Chicago on Monday, August 18, 2003.
What is this item? A towel wet with his sweat.
Before he threw the
item to the crowd, he said something like, “When I threw this to the
audience last night, the crowd went wild.” If I’m correct, this shows his sense of humor and sense of fun,
and ability to lighten up the atmosphere. The intimacy of the setting was evident when he was putting on
such a great show, that he needed to wipe his face and the lady in the
crowd gave him back his towel so he can wipe his face. Only in live shows will you have this kind of atmosphere.
Thank you Russell
Crowe and TOFOG. Your great, live show was autograph enough.
