 U.S. Open 2002 is
over and once again, Sampras and Agassi have proven they are indeed gods
in the tennis world.
How are they similar
to Russell Crowe? All three men are in their thirties, for starters. They’re not “teeny-hearthrob-boppers” who depend entirely
on a lot of marketing behind them. All three have earned their godlike status in their chosen
careers because of their proven track record.
Tennis and the movies have many differences and one can argue that Crowe, Sampras, and Agassi should not be classified
together. True, but all
three men share one commonality with their fans: entertainment at a high level.
So who are the fans
of these kind of men? They
don’t depend on gossip and instead depend on these three men’s work. They continue to tune-in to their latest accomplishments. Why? Because these
three men continue to raise the standard for themselves, their
contemporaries, and their fans.
Another can argue
that we fans are blind. True,
our temporary eyesight will become blind eventually, and thankfully, part
of the reason was watching these men at their best.
