In this 1994 Turner Home
Entertainment movie, actor Pierce Brosnan plays the part of Sir William
Johnson.
This character's dialogue
reflects something Brosnan, himself,
probably would say. Why do I say
this? Because after writing an electronic book on Pierce Brosnan, I
have discovered this actor's determination.
Here is Sir William
Johnson's dialogue:
"Nothing will be handed to
us."
"Nothing comes easy."
"It is a fierce fight."
Brosnan delivers this
dialogue with great fervor and conviction and it makes me think of his
own, depth of character as an individual.
The movie's premise shows a
peaceful time in American history when a confederacy listened to its
women, a group of mothers and grandmothers.
This confederacy was called
the Iroquois Six Nations Confederacy
who lived mostly in New York and Pennsylvania and included the following
Native American tribes:
The Iroquois
Mohawk
Oneida
Onondaga
Cayuga
Tuscarora
Seneca
This movie aims to educate
today's viewers to provide them with a more informed and
respectful view of a "culture" so unlike modern day.
Again, Brosnan
accepts a role where he gets to dress in period costume and gives
audiences another, varied role. If you've seen enough of his movies (before Bond) as I have, he has moved from one genre to another.
