Jackson's words here show his genuine care for the art of
filmmaking, especially in his blockbuster trilogy, which Tolkien
wrote during a troubled time in our human history.
Jackson's last sentence is a major reason we go to the movies
and so the love and care he has given of his time in ROTK will
be something to look forward to.
He
reveals his deep emotions from filming for the last time with
his stars:
"I
have experienced my last day of shooting Elijah Wood as
Frodo and my last day of shooting Viggo (Mortensen) as Aragorn.
Those to me are more profound than what my personal last day is
going to be." He also said The Return of the King
would be the best of the three films, and his personal favorite.
"It is the movie that I want to be most proud of, so I am
working very hard to make sure that happens. I think when people
look back at the three films, I want Return of the King
to be the one that really lingers with them in terms of the
emotional experience. I want it to be the reason why we
made the other two films."
