We
all know that the script for the two towers is adapted from
Tolkien's works. Thus, the technical term for the script is
that it is an adaptation.
Most of today's movies are based on other
people's books or lives because these books or figures already have a
following or are significant persons in our human history, and thus, the
movie is guaranteed a viewing audience.
It's the practical, business-side of
movie making and in the history of filmmaking, this has proven to work
again and again.
The
Lord of the Rings movies fall in this category and because they give
us a wide experience, where the movie originates is important, but it
ultimately rests on how well the filmmaker turns the words into
pictures. Peter Jackson has proven his great ability to do this.
