The Two Towers succeeds in presenting the three storylines of Aragorn/Legolas/Gimli, Pippin/Merry, and Frodo/Sam/Gollum.  

Despite the different paths the characters follow in this second movie, the one thing that keeps it all glued together is Peter Jackson's vision.
