This
young man, Viggo Mortensen's son, is largely responsible for his father's
acceptance of the role of Aragorn. Viggo had to make a decision
quicker than the usual time he allows himself to accept a role, and the
prodding of his son definitely was an influence.
It helps that Henry is
well-read as his father testifies and was familiar with Tolkien. So
Henry knew what role was being offered to his father.
Imagine if Henry were not
around when Viggo got the call. We would have been seeing another
actor play Aragorn, which is hard to visualize. Of all the
"unknown" actors working today, who would have played Aragorn if
Viggo didn't?
Fortunately, we don't have to worry about the answer.
