You
can listen to viggo mortensen music in his book, Recent Forgeries,
where he reads his poems with musical backgrounds.
You an also hear his music
in his reading of a section of Jack Kerouac's On The Road in
the CD, New Yorker Out Loud, with Viggo Mortensen as one of the
readers and in which he includes his music in the background.
His new CD, PandemoniumfromAmerica,
which became available for sale in November 2003 also includes contributions from his Lord of the Rings costars, his
son, and Buckethead. Be prepared to listen to the non-conventional
approach of this CD. A favorite? Track 7--Red River
Valley--it is endearing with a touch of irony--interesting combination of
a feeling. He plays a bit
of this on his harmonica in Hidalgo and because he is playing with
the harmonica only--the sound is much more endearing in the movie. Listen to the CD more than once to truly appreciate it.
For example, each track was consciously made to be very different from the
other.
