September 1, 2006. It will premiere in the U.S. on December, 2006.

and this makes sense because in the first book, Diego Alatriste is
described as "thin" due to his living conditions in Madrid.

taken as he was making his way south having just gotten through Syria,
Jordan, Israel and so forth before the present trouble erupted."
Thanks to Leslie for sharing picture on right. Her son
bears a resemblance to the picture of Viggo as Alatriste from last
month's column.
Picture is taken in Cairo where her son is enroute to Nairobi
where he is helping at an orphanage for "HIV and handicapped
children and is run by one very dedicated woman and some local
assistance in the slums of Nairobi. They are hoping to eventually move out into the country but at the moment
they have some days when there isn't enough food to go around. But I think
that the others with whom he was working this summer got lots of repair
work done and set up a basketball hoop and a little playground for the
children."

Does anyone else see a resemblance? May not be Viggo, but the
spirit is the same.
